A Great Foundation allows us to build our lives with confidence.

The first step in any building project is the foundation. The foundation must match the magnitude of the structure being built and must take into account the environment in which we build. Soil testing, stability, excavation, compaction, weather conditions… these are some of the factors for putting into place a solid foundation. Here are a few ways the code book helps us with this critical component in building a life that lasts:
1. Hearing the Lord’s words about what it means to be human AND putting them into practice. (Matthew 7:24-27)
2. Rooted and GROUNDED (foundation) in LOVE. Love is about as solid a soil as you are going to find to be founded on. (Ephesians 3:14-19 (17b))
3. Jesus Christ is THE FOUNDATION upon which we can securely build for the long haul! (1 Corinthians 3:10-15)
The first two foundational ideas find their reality in the third and that is why we “testify” to this by affirming the necessity of the new birth in Jesus Christ.
