PreOccupied

So... I was taking some time each of the 12 days of Christmas to contemplate... Christmas! and the gift of grace that comes to me in Jesus. As part of doing so I was putting updates on FaceBook about each of the "gifts" given in the 12 Days of Christmas song. Then I got back home and back to work and didn't take time to comment on the tenth, eleventh and twelfth days of Christmas, the twelfth day being Epiphany... a day that came and went with nary a mention here abouts... and now we are in the Ordinary Time leading up to the next season of the Christian Calendar - Lent - which begins with Ash Wednesday (this year, Feb. 17).

Sometimes it may seem as though such things as these days and seasons preoccupy me... maybe they do.  But then again, it's not really these days and seasons in particular that preoccupy me but the vast and glorious history - past, present, and future - to which they point.  Actually, where the "preoccupation" really lies is with the One in, through and to whom all this glorious experience we call life, the world, the universe, to which these days and seasons try to point, that is the preoccupation!  Yes, I do tend to get preoccupied with the God stuff.

So let me ask: What preoccupies you? Don't kid yourself; something preoccupies you. The question is, is what preoccupies you worthy of such preoccupation?
